Network and Operations management with extensive experience in TDM and DEEP VoIP Engineering knowledge.  Must have in-depth knowledge of telecom products such as DS1, DS3, OC3, VoIP and SIP-trunking, must have good understanding and experience working with facilities based carriers such as Verizon, AT&T, Qwest, Paetec, Level 3, XO, Global Crossing, etc.

Airespring is a leading nationwide telecom provider looking for a VP Network Engineering to join its team. This position provides overall direction and guidance to the Network Engineering and Operations activities of the organization with the objective of maximizing growth and profitability.

The VP Network Engineering reports to the Senior VP Operations and will directly supervise the directors and general managers of the Network Engineering and Operations divisions. This position will be responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and overseeing the day to day functions of the Network Engineering and Operations divisions.

Moreover, the VP Network Engineering will be responsible for the planning, design and optimization of the AireSpring network and will aide the intricate network systems solutions using technologies both emerging and current.


DETAILS

Major responsibilities:

  • Provide direction and structure for operating units.
  • Implement improved processes and management methods to generate higher ROI and workflow optimization
  • Develop and create strategies and policies aligned with organizational goals
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to subordinates and other employees
  • Follow directions set by the CEO and Snr VP for Operations
  • Supervise management to achieve customer satisfaction
  • Administer employees performance reviews for subordinates
  • Plan and create the forecasting, implementation and identification of resource requirements for network systems
  • Supervise all analytical tasks and activities associated with telecommunications functions (e.g., VoIP network design and engineering, implementation, diagnostics or operations/user support)\
  • Integrate and schematically depict communication architecture, hardware, software, transmission, signaling links and protocols into complete network configurations
  • Confer with and advise administrators, user representatives, and technical personnel regarding development and design of wide area and local area networks 
  • Prepare recommendations on monitoring and analysis tools.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures regarding network equipment, maintenance, and monitoring 
  • Evaluate new products and assists in the creation and documentation of technical standards and interface applications.
  • Overseeing protocol compatibility. 
  • Perform system tuning and make recommendations for improvement of the data network.
  • Aide the operation of the telecom network systems. 
  • Perform tasks relating to telecom network operations, installation and/or maintenance for local, off-site and/or remote locations.
  • Configure and maintain routers, switches and hubs for the network system. 
  • Perform troubleshooting procedures and design resolution scripts. 
  • Provides Tier 3 support for complex incidents.
  • Participate in the network planning and architecture design as well as engineering for special projects and or assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7+ years of IT experience in infrastructure/networking environments
  • 4+ years VoIP telecommunication architecture
  • 4+ years of VoIP telecommunications planning, designing and engineering
  • Ability and willingness to work during off-hour installations
  • Excellent Oral and written communication skills
  • Possess the ability to motivate and maintaining effective working relationships with staff and partners
  • Able to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Able to successfully work to reach company goals in an environment in which a wide degree of creative and latitude in required of this position
  • Prior experience demonstrating effective management skills
  • Extensive experience in TDM and VoIP
